The following table discloses, for each sitting member of the House and Senate, the amount in Trillions of Dollars ($T) of Debt they incurred for US Taxpayers since she or he assumed office in Congress. The amount is calculated by taking the Total Public Debt Outstanding at November 30, 2017 of $20.6 Trillion (actually $20,590,391,942,312) minus the approximate Debt when each took office (source – US Treasury).

The table also notes with a “Y” those members 0f Congress who have taken the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to never raise taxes, despite the need to borrow to fund government operations.

To the best of our knowledge, no Elected Politician has mentioned, taken credit, or taken ownership for skyrocketing the national debt thus abusing the good faith and credit of US Taxpayers.  If a member of Congress believes the amount of debt attributed to her or his term is different, they may submit written documentation for review to support their calculation. If accepted, the debt attributed to that Elected Politician will be adjusted accordingly. In the meantime, they will be credited with the full amount borrowed during their tenure.
